How To Choose The Right Reading Glasses

In the process of choosing lenses for reading, the doctor will use a special table with texts of different sizes. The smallest is distinguishable for people with vision equal to 1.0. The largest, located at the bottom, corresponds to a vision of 0.1.

The table is placed at a distance of 33-35 cm, but if necessary, use glasses for reading and when working on a laptop, you should place the table further, thereby simulating a real situation.

Ratio age / lens parameters:

  • at 40 you will need +1.0 D lenses;
  • at 45 - already +1.5 D;
  • by the age of 50 - +2.0 D;
  • upon reaching 55 years old - +2.5 D;
  • at 60 years old - +3.0 D;
  • at the age of 65, the strength of the lenses increases to +3.5 D.

The above norms are averaged and do not take into account the peculiarities of vision: the presence of astigmatism, the uniformity of refraction of the eyes, the distance between the centers of the pupils, etc.

Thus, it is best to change glasses every 5 years. After overcoming this milestone, the development of presbyopia stops, since the crystalline lens loses its elasticity.

Choose a perfect quality and beautiful frame, do not forget about a durable case. It should be understood that such types of accessories also need care, as well as ordinary glasses.

In our store, you can also buy accessories with an anti-reflective coating, which significantly reduces eye exhaustion by increasing the transparency of the lenses.
