How To Properly Care For Glasses

Dust, fingerprints, dried drops, and other not more pleasant marks periodically appear on the surface of lenses and frames. This shortens the service life of the glasses, and gives us discomfort when wearing them, which is fraught with loss of visual acuity and quality, as well as eye strain. This is why it is incredibly important to take the time to clean your glasses every day and be clear about what it means to properly care for your glasses.

How To Clean Between Glasses Lens And Frame

A piece of microfiber fabric is a must when cleaning your glasses. It manages well with not very serious pollution. Due to the soft, lint-free surface, it cannot scratch the glasses and leave annoying excess threads and fluff on the glass surface.

Please keep in mind that the napkin itself must be washed periodically, preferably with soap, so that it will better cope with its functions.

If we talk about more severe pollution, then more serious intervention is required in the form of special sprays and means for cleaning glasses. They can be found in almost any optical store, and the selection is usually quite varied.

We collect the most  working methods of how to clean between lens and frame of glasses:

  1. If the lenses are easy to remove from the frame, it is best to remove and clean them separately.
  2. If the lenses are not removable, a toothbrush with as soft bristles as possible will help clean the dirt along the edge of the frame.
  3. Hold the lens by pinching the edges between your fingers so that they do not leave greasy marks or smear dirt on the surface.
  4. Next, rinse the lenses with warm running water to wash off the abrasive particles of dirt and dust. Until you have done this, in no case should you wipe the lenses, otherwise small scratches may remain on them!
  5. Headstrong dirt such as fingerprints or grease stains is best washed off in warm running water using a non-aggressive product. For example, a soft sponge with a drop of dishwashing detergent. But then you need to thoroughly rinse the washed lenses so that there are no streaks on them.

If you do not have the above eyewear cleaning supplies in stock, try using individually packaged, wet disposable lens cleaning pads.
